Google Consent Mode v2 ensures data sent to Google respects user consent preferences—especially for users in the European Economic Area (EEA). It allows measurement and conversions while waiting for consent, and blocks personalized advertising unless consent is granted.
Once you’ve installed the UniConsent CMP (via the app, direct tag, or Google Tag Manager), Google Consent Mode v2 is automatically enabled for your Shopify website.
The Shopify Customer Privacy API allows apps and services, like Google Ads and Meta Pixel to align with privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA, particularly on sensitive pages like checkout.
When you install UniConsent via the Shopify app, directly add tags, or use Google Tag Manager, this API is automatically integrated with your store.
You're now fully set up to manage user consent on your Shopify store in compliance with global privacy laws.
